Fiske Warren

Frederick Fiske Warren (2 July, 1862–2 February, 1938) was a hugely successful Paper Manufacturer, fine arts denizen and major supporter of Henry George's Single Tax system which he helped develop in Harvard,Massachusetts, United States in the 1930's. He was the son of Samuel Dennis Warren and Susan Cornelia Warren of Beacon Hill, Boston, Massachusetts and the brother to Samuel D. Warren (US attorney) and Edward Perry Warren.

Early life

Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, Fiske was raised in a mansion on 67 Mount Vernon Street"The Mount Vernon Street Warrens" Martin Green, Simon & Schuster, 1989 ISBN 0684191091, pp 36-37.] in Beacon Hill, Boston, Massachusetts ["The Mount Vernon Street Warrens" Martin Green, Simon & Schuster, 1989 ISBN 0684191091, pp 47-48.] . A philanthropic and highly educated family, the Warren brothers and sisters all enjoyed tranquil childhoods growing up between the family homes in Boston and Waltham, Massachusetts, also known as "Cedar Hill".

Married Life

On 14 May, 1891 he married Gretchen Osgood Warren in Boston [http://query.nytimes.com/mem/archive-free/pdf?res=9C01E4D8163AE533A25756C1A9639C94609ED7CF] . The Osgoods were a very well known and reputable Beacon Hill, Boston, Massachusetts family, that claimed a direct genealogical line to Anne Hutchinson and John Quincy Adams ["Erskine Childers" Jim Ring, John Murray Publishing, London 1996 ISBN 0719556813, p81.] . The wedding was considered to be one of the most notable union's between two of Boston's most well known families. It was the talk of the town in 1891.
