The Ashcroft Technology Academy building was formally the building of Mayfield Girls School. Mayfield School left the building in 1987 when it with Garret Green School to become Burntwood School.
ADT College's establishment, in 1991, was funded by donations from various organisations.
ADT Security Services was one of these organisations, which explains the school's name and identical logo.In 2007, the school was converted into an academy. It was named Ashcroft Technology Academy in honour of Lord
Michael Ashcroft . Marcus Barker took over as headmaster from David Durban, a well respected and highly profiled headteacher, who had been the second head appointed since ADT College's establishment in 1991.External links
