- Hanon Reznikov
Hanon Reznikov (born Howard Reznik in
Brooklyn ,New York ,September 23 ,1950 ; d.New York City ,May 3 ,2008 ) was an Americantheater andfilm actor ,writer , and co-director ofThe Living Theatre inNew York City (withJudith Malina ) sinceJulian Beck 's death in 1985. He married Malina in 1988. Although he was born with the surname Reznik, he later changed it to Reznikov, the surname held by his family upon their immigration to the United States.His first contact with The Living Theatre was in 1968, when, as a
biophysics student atYale University , he attended a performance in New York'sLower East Side . He joined the company in 1977. He wrote and directed many Living Theatre productions, including "Anarchia", "And Then The Heavens Closed", "The Body of God", "Capital Changes", "Clearing The Streets", "Code Orange Cantata", "A Dream Of Water", "Enigmas", "The Rules of Civility", "Utopia", and "The Zero Method".On April 13, 2008, he suffered a
stroke , followed bypneumonia , and was in a clinically-induced coma to help with his breathing. He died of pneumonia on May 3, 2008, at the age of 57. He is survived by his brother, James Reznik, of California.External links
