The Fratellis , the albums feature demos, acoustic and live variations, and unreleased tracks. They are only available to registered members of The Fratellis' official website. The name "Budhill" refers to the area ofShettleston ,Glasgow from where bassistBarry Fratelli hails from.Both volumes saw the beginning of their release before the release of the respective album and mostly features alternate versions of the songs from the album. Samplers of the album are also released beforehand, but are removed shortly after it's release.
During the course of volume one's release, two limited edition Budhill Single CDs were released, one with the release of "Henrietta" and one with the release of "
Whistle for the Choir ", these CDs came with a blank CD with the Budhill Singles stamp on to burn the stated songs on the cover onto the CD. There was also a place to store the CD release of the single.Volume 1
Volume 1 was released in support of the "
Costello Music " album.
