Angel Landayan

Maria Angelica "Angel" Landayan became a contestant in the Del Monte Fit and Right [http://telebisyon.net/Del-Monte-Fit-n-Right-Got-2B-Fit-Challenge/series/tauhan/ Got 2B Fit Challenge] (which aired on Filipino local network ABS-CBN for 6 Saturdays, starting February 23, 2008 until March 29, 2008), a "Biggest Loser"-type of reality show where contestants were made to stay inside a fitness camp. Goal of the camp was for the contestants to have "fit, firm, and fab" bodies. Angel, dubbed as the [http://telebisyon.net/Angel-Landayan/artista/ "Sweet n Sosy Mestiza"] from Bulacan (her hometown), was the first female evictee of the show, only after 11 days of being in the fitness camp. According to the judges, her failure to choose the "right types of food" during the Temptation Table Challenge caused her the boot. She had lost 13 pounds during the camp, and is continuing to lose more unwanted pounds. With a starting weight of 233 lbs, she is now down to 196 lbs.

Angel was born on January 19, 1984, in Quezon City, National Capital Region, Philippines. Her parents are Lydia Brizuela Landayan Catalig and Teofilo Santos Noveno. After the relationship of her parents fell through, her mother and father went through a court battle to gain custody of her. Being only 2 years old at the time of the court battle, the law sided with her mother and was given custody of Angel. Subsequently, the court granted her name to be changed to Maria Angelica Brizuela Landayan, from the prior filed Maria Angelica Landayan Noveno. Fact|date=April 2008

Angel attended pre-school at the [http://www.sunnyhillschool.com/ Sunny Hill Child Study Center] in Quezon City. She then transferred to the exclusive Catholic girls' school Assumption Antipolo where she earned her elementary and high school diplomas (1997 and 2001). She attended [http://www.admu.edu.ph/ Ateneo de Manila University] , a Jesuit University in Quezon City, for college. She earned her degree in [http://www.admu.edu.ph/index.php?p=496 AB Communication Arts] , majoring in advertising and public relations. She was part of the class of 2005.

After graduating, she worked for a small integrated marketing communications agency and events advertising agency in Kapitolyo, Pasig. After her resignation in December of 2006, Angel worked for one of the leading Filipino-Chinese retailers as part of the Business development division. And from August 2007 until February 2008, Angel worked as a consultant for Fort Bonifacio Development Corporation, which manages the fast-rising business district of [http://www.bonifacioglobalcity.ph/ Bonifacio Global City] in Taguig.
