- Oral Sedation Research Fund
The Oral Sedation Research Fund is a non-profit fund started by Michael D. Silverman, DMD, founder and president of the
Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation (DOCS). The fund is supported and funded by DOCS members to bestow grants to studies that focus on the safety and application ofsedation in dentistry. To dategrants have been given to theUniversity of Washington whose study was published in The Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology entitled "Pharmacokinetics and Clinical Effects of Multidose Sublingual Triazolam in Healthy Volunteers". The second grant was issued to the University of Maryland. This study was published in 'General Dentistry and is entitled "Assessing the need for anesthesia and sedation in the general population".
