Artyom Hovanissyan (born 16 November 1981) was born in Gyumri, Armenia. He started in the sport of boxing at the age of 13 under internationally known boxing coach Varuzhan Davtyan.
Artyom is a four-time Armenian national champion in the lightweight division. And now as a professional, his record stands at a perfect and undefeated 7-0 with more victories to come, with the last victory coming by KO in the 25th second of the First round.
Artyom has had much experience, in world and European championships and international tournaments, in China, Iran, Czechoslovakia, Croatia, France, Ukraine and many other countries. Where he has had over 175 amateur bouts and had lost only 12 of those matches.
Artyom moved to the United States in 2007 and now trains at the Glendale Fighting Club under Edmond Tarverdyan. His last two matches (August and September 2007) were decisive wins over experienced fighters. Artyom's current world ranking on boxrec is 188 out of 1275.
