Rupert Friend (born 01 October, 1981) is an English film actor.

Friend grew up in Oxfordshire and after leaving the Marlborough School, a state comprehensive in Woodstock, trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London. His most famous role is arguably as Mr. Wickham in of the 2005 adaptation of "Pride & Prejudice". He also appeared opposite Johnny Depp in "The Libertine", as Billy Downs, a young friend and lover of John Wilmot, 2nd Earl of Rochester, the character played by Depp. Friend is known to have read for the part of James Bond in "Casino Royale" (2006). More recently, he appeared opposite Dame Joan Plowright in "Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont". He was named "outstanding new talent" at the 2005 Satellite Awards.
