Gloucester Cup (RAN)

The Gloucester Cup is an annual award presented to the most proficient ship in the Royal Australian Navy. The award was first presented in 1947 by the then Governor General of Australia the Duke of Gloucester.

The criteria used to assess ships for the cup are:
* operational efficiency;
* husbandry and seamanship;
* supply and administration;
* officer and sailor training;
* divisional systems, morale and discipline; and
* equipment reliability, maintenance and resourcefulness.
