Marihueño

Marihueño is a large hill in the Nahuelbuta Range near the coast in the Lota commune of the Bio-Bio Region of southern Chile. Site of the Battle of Marihueñu during the Arauco War, it overlooked the coastal route to Araucanía from Concepción. The place is located on the coast to the north of the Playa de Colcura and south of Lota. It is also known as the "Cuesta de Víllagra" (Hill of Víllagra) or Cerro Villagrán (Villagrán Hill).
