- Hallicrafters SX-117
The Hallicrafters SX-117 is a multiband AM receiver. It is capable of receiving AM (
Amplitude_Modulation ), CW (Morse_code ), USB, LSB (Sideband ). With plenty bells and whistles, especially for its time. A nice thing it has is an “LF Antenna” input. With this one plugged in, you could either receive local stations or use the HA-10 LF tuner. The speaker output is designed for 3.2 ohm impedance (Model R47). (An 8-ohm speaker does not work well. A 4-ohm speaker works alright but not quite to full output). Another nifty function is the “remote receive standby switching,” which allows the receiver to stop receiving when transmitting. That prevents damage and or feedback during transmissions.Stock Tuning Bands

A Few Technical Details
* Input Voltage 105-125 A.C.
* 50/60 cycles.
* Power Consumption 70W
* Sensitivity >.5 to 1 Microvolt
* Audio Output Impedance 3.2 ohms or 500 ohms.
* Audio Output Power (3.2 Ohms) 3.5 (W.P.P.)
* Antenna- 50-75 Ohm Unbalanced
* To turn on-off the "Notch Freq", push-pull the nob for it.
* Please make sure to ground the unit before use. It can have 6-65 volt easily with ground bias readings. Also AM comes in much better and with less noise when grounded.Accessories
* HA-10
