Gwilym Emyr Owen III was born on
July 24 ,1960 in Syracuse, New York. He is an Americansinger/songwriter . He attendedAntioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio but did not graduate. He moved toNashville in 1983 and formed the band The Thieves, which recorded the album "Seduced by Money" for Bug/Capitol Records in 1988. Since then, he has performed as a solo singer/songwriter, and his songs have been covered byToni Price ,Keith Richards ,Irma Thomas andJack Ingram , among others. He was anAcademy Award nominee in1999 for "A Soft Place to Fall" (co-written withAllison Moorer ) from the movie "The Horse Whisperer".Discography
