Pietra Rivoli is a professor of finance and international business at
Georgetown University and author of award-winning book, "The Travels of a T-Shirt in the Global Economy." Her book is a first-person narrative aimed at explaining issues in theglobal economy , and traces the production and sale of t-shirts fromcotton farms in Texas to used clothing vendors inTanzania . Among other awards, it was a finalist for the "Financial Times"- Goldman Sachs 2005 Business Book of the Year and an Amazon.com Editor's Pick for the 10 Best Business Books of 2005 [http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/feature/-/593475/104-0321970-1650308] .Ms. Rivoli's book has recently been adapted into a play by Danish playwright Ditte Maria Bjerg, called "Shopping" at the Camp X theatre in Copenhagen. She lives in Washington with her husband, Dennis, and teenage children Denny and Annalisa Quinn.
