Kameokinaeiamoku was Hawaiian high chief and Counsellor of State to King
Kamehameha the Great was known as one of the royal niau-pio twins with his brotherKamanawa . He was said to be uncle of Kamehameha but was really the uncle of Kamehameha's motherKekuiapoiwa II .He was born one of the twin sons Alii Keawepoipoi and his sister Kanoena. Kalani-Kauleleiaiwi of Hawaii who was also grandmother ofKeoua making them cousin. He was among the first to supportKamehameha the Great in his rebellion against his cousinKiwalao along with his brother Kamanawa, his half brotherKeeaumoku Papaiahiahi , andKeaweaheulu . He was the chief that ambushed the "Fair American" after he was whipped by Simon Metcalf captain of the "Eleonara". In his angered he further help his sovereign by adding to his council two foreigner Isaac Davis and John Young who were from the two foreign ships.He fatheredKepookalani andUlumaheihei Hoapili who succeed him in assisting Kamehameha after his death. Through his son Kepookalani came forth theKalakaua Dynasty . He lives on the coat of arm of Hawaii. On each side of the Coat of Arm of Hawaii was the figure chief in a feather cloak and a helmet.
