Richard Langham Smith

Richard Langham Smith (born 10 September 1947, Barnes, London)

Educated in Music at York University, Richard Langham Smith then pursued further study with Wilfrid Mellers and Edward Lockspeiser as well as studying historical performance in Holland (he plays the harpsichord). A university teaching career began at Lancaster, then City, the University of Exeter and continues currently as Head of Music at the Open University. He likes trains.
