Education
Klata was educated at the No. 8 primary school in Lęborku between 1970 and 1978 and then at the general education secondary school Stefan Żeromskiego in Lęborku between 1978 and 1982. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, at the University of Nicolaus Copernicus where he obtained a Masters degree in 1987. He later attended post-graduate studies in multi-media technology at
Gdańsk University of Technology in 2001 and sociology at the Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of thePolish Academy of Sciences inWarsaw in 2006.Professional career
Since 1994, Klata has been associated with the administration of government and with council. Between 1994 and 1998, he was a councillor and a member of the executive board of the City the Lęborka. Later in 1998, he was the head of the district office for Lęborku. Then, from 2000 to 2002, he was the village mayor for Cewice Commune and was appointed as administrator for municipalities by Prime Minister
Jerzy Buzek , since in May 2000 the occupants of Cewice appointed both village mayor and administrator for municipalities by referendum). Between 1998 and 2002, Klata was also a district councillor and chairman of the audit committee for the district council, and in the years 2002 to 2007, he was deputy mayor of the city of Lęborka, responsible for supervising education and geodesy matters. On 10 February 2008, Klata was promoted to the Mayor of Lęborka office.Personal life
Klata is married to Katarzyna, a translator into the German language, who comes from a well-known Kaszubskiego family of Janków from Mściszewic, and they have two children. For many years, Klata ran with his wife, Lęborku first Linguistic Agency. Between 2000 and 2002, he was the member of supervisory advice of the Pomeranian Agency Development administering the Słupską Special Economic Zone A. He is a member of the Association of Kashunia-Pomorania, where he initiated the annual event, "the Tabaczenie - the Cewicka Pipe of Peace".
From 1987, Klata worked as mathematician and physicist at primary school in Łebunia, and from 1989, as physicist at general education secondary school No. 1 in Lęborku. For several years, he was a consultant to teach physics in the English language at the English Social General Education Secondary school in Lęborku. His work was valued: he received the Silver Cross of Contribution and twice received an award from the periodical "Knowledge and the Life". Since 1993, he actively supported the protection of consumers rights and for the last few years, he has been a member of the board of the Federation of Consumers in Lęborku. He is vice-chairman of the Association of Samorządowe Lęborska Earth. He was involved with journalistic activities with the bulletin "Krona" between 1998 and 2000, the bulletin "Lęborskie Facts" since 1999 and its internet service www.fakty.lebork.pl from 2001.
He actively participated in the work of the European Association of Astronomical Education. In 2000, at the invitation of the ESEA, he gave a lecture at a seminar in
Varna on innovative methods of youth participation in the process of teaching physics and astronomy, entitled "Shadows and Stones".External links
