Vancouver ,British Columbia ,Canada and has more than 23,000 students (full-time and part-time). Programs were first offered in 1965 at King Edward Centre as part of Vancouver City College. The current site at 100 West 49th Avenue has housed the programs since 1970. The college was established as an independent public college onApril 1 ,1994 . It takes its name from the neighbourhood name which in turn was named for Spanish AdmiralJuan de Lángara .Programs & Courses
University Studies
Langara College provides first- and second-year university-level programs (Arts & Science university-transfer) culminating in an associate degree, diploma and/or certificate. Many students go on to complete degrees at universities across BC and Canada. There is also a 4-year university program that culminates in a bachelor of science in nursing.

There are approximately 30 industry-based career programs - several of which are 4-year baccalaureate degrees

Studio 58 , Langara's Theatre Arts program, ranked with in the Top 5 theatre schools in Canada (2006). The school auditions hundreds of people across Canada but only 16 students are accepted per semester. The school has around 72 students for both its three year acting program, and two year production program.Athletics
Athletics, Langara's intercollegiate athletic program is one of the top college athletic programs in Canada. Langara is a member of the British Columbia Colleges' Athletic Association (BCCAA) and the

The Langara's Students' Union (LSU) is an independent student union, not a member union of the
Canadian Federation of Students . The offices of the LSU are currently located in a portable while the construction of a new Students' Union building is being completed.tudent Media
Student Media at Langara is served by two outlets. The Voice, which is run and funded by the College's Journalism program and a new media initiative that the Langara Students' Union is implementing known as Voter Funded Media. The Gleaner, another of the college's media outlets, has become defunct since late 07' and it's future state is uncertain.
The UN-Alumni Association
There have been a number of attempts to start an alumni association but with very few results. However, Langara's Seven, part of the UN-Alumni Association' will be getting together in October 2008 for a few beers and a few laughs. You are welcome to join us.
