Carol Bagley Amon

Carol Bagley Amon (b. 1946, Richmond, VA) is a federal judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Judge Amon received a B.S. from the College of William and Mary in 1968 and a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1971. She served as a U.S. Magistrate for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York from 1986 to 1990. She was nominated to the court by George H.W. Bush on May 18, 1990, to a seat vacated by Mark A. Costantino, confirmed by the Senate on August 3, 1990, and received her commission on August 7, 1990.
