- Wakefield School
Wakefield School is an independent school located in The Plains, Virginia. It began as a small school in Marshall, but eventually gained rights to Archwood Manor, where it rests today on its hill. Wakefield School split off from Wakefield Country Day after a dispute about the next headmaster and whether the school should be religious. Wakefield is currently non-denominational.

Theatre Wakefield's theatre program, while it lacks a stage, is another of the school's strong points.
