Historical Journal

Historical Journal

The Historical Journal is a scholarly journal publishing papers on all aspects of British, European and world history since the fifteenth century. It publishes 35 articles and communications per year, from a range of contemporary international scholars, as well as an extensive reviews section in each issue. The journal was established under its present title in 1958, when its name was changed from ‘The Cambridge Historical Journal’. Despite dropping the Cambridge label, it remained under the editorial leadership of the history faculty of Cambridge University, as it does to this day. It is, at present, edited by Clare Jackson (Trinity Hall, Cambridge) and Robert Tombs (St Johns College, Cambridge), whilst William O’Reilly (Trinity Hall, Cambridge) edits reviews. The editors are supported by an editorial board comprised of Cambridge history faculty members and its publishing partner, Cambridge University Press.
