Loggins attended
Fairmont State University in the US and was drafted by theDetroit Pistons in the 8th round of the NBA Draft in 1980 but only managed limited minutes in four appearances. In 1981 Loggins joined theBrisbane Bullets in his first NBL season, but left the club after one season to play for theWest Adelaide Bearcats in 1982. After a successful stint with the Bearcats (including winning his first championship), Loggins returned to the Bullets.Return to Bullets
He would then play out the remainder of his career even captaining the Bullets from 1990 through till his retirement. As an Australian citizen, Loggins also competed for the Australian men's basketball team, the Boomers, in the 1992 Olympic Games in
Barcelona .Loggins would eventually retire after 21 seasons in the NBL at the end of the 2000/01 season despite still being an integral part of the Bullets lineup at 43 years of age. The number 30 jersey worn by Loggins throughout his career has been retired by the Bullets in his honour.
In total, he played 567 games in the
Australia n NBL, which is the second highest behindAndrew Gaze . He also scored 13106 points during his career, at an average of 23.11 a game. He also grabbed 3897 rebounds in his career, another Top 10 in the league achievement.Awards
