At the 2006 Commonwealth Games, India was fourth in the medal tally (repeating the fourth place achieved at the 2002 Commonwealth Games), and was fifth in the All-time tally of medals, with an overall total of 266 medals (104 Gold, 90 Silver and 72 Bronze).
