Sports Affairs Council (zh-t|t=體育委員會) is a council under the Executive Yuan, the executive branch of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan). It was established in mainland China and relocated to Taiwan after the defeat of Kuomintang in the Chinese Civil War.

History

The Sports Affairs Council was established in 1932. At the time, however, it could not function because the state was at war.cite web |url=http://www.ncpfs.gov.tw/aboutus/aboutus1-2.aspx |title=行政院體育委員會簡史 |accessdate=2008-04-05 |work=Sports Affairs Council official website] In 1973, the Department of Physical Education (zh-t|t=體育司) was established under the Ministry of Education.
