Biography

Boban Simonovski was born in Skopje on December 10th, year 1989. He has shown a magnificent interest in music since very young. The roots of his music career come from the ‘Children Choir of the Macedonian Radio Television’ which Boban joined at the age of 8. Right after his music talent was recognized my Mr. Aleksandar Jambazov, Boban became a part of the children music festival ‘Zlatno Slavejce’, where he performed his first song ‘Edna Jasna’ on the 30th anniversary of the festival. His song won the ‘Most-Played Song’ prize in 1999/2000, and in return, The Macedonian Radio Television awarded Boban making a video for this song. 2 years after that, taking place on the festival ‘Zlatno Slavejce 2002’ again, he sang his second song ‘Leonora, Leonorce’.

He has traveled a lot around Europe, being a part of many children festivals. One of his dearest was the remarkable performance Boban had in Krakov, Poland, on the manifestation ‘European Children’, where he won the second prize for most outstanding interpretation in Europe. Besides being a member of the Zlatno Slavejce Choir, Boban was a part of the ‘Choir of the Multiethnic Festival’ of junior songs ‘Shareni Noti’. Together with three more singers he sang the song ‘Kad Bi Ljudi Bila Djeca’ in Bosnian language.He took place on the ‘Junior Eurosong Competition’ in 2003, where he was elected as one of the top 10 out of 2000 competitors. He won the 4th prize performing ‘Kako Hari Poter’.He has also been first prize winner at many children concert competitions throughout Europe, including Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Albania, France etc. Boban rounded off his children block with a performance in Athens on the manifestation ‘Children Of Peace’ right before the beginning of the Olympic Games 2004 in Greece.

When Boban enrolled the Music School Center ‘Ilija Nikolovski- Luj’ he was the only solo singer in the class of the teacher Zvezda Mircevska from Russia.

Boban has been cooperating with a great number of music producers. His had his first cooperation made, noticed by Robert Bilbilov while being a part of the Single Talent Show, where he performed a song by Lambe Alabakovski who was his schoolmate at the same time.

Helping and organizing the charity concert of Tose Proeski in Ohrid, named ‘Tose and Friends’ resulted a concert performance opportunity with several world-famous music stars, together with Bojan Marovic and other music stars from the Balkan.

The initiative of Robert Bilbilov to continue the cooperation with Boban gave the great result- Boban’s first single ‘Da Ne Zaspijam’, which set up the beginning of his official music career. After the song was promoted, it was on top of almost every music chart on several local radio stations. It was also very well promoted in most of the other towns in Macedonia and several music shows.

His curiosity and desire to do more led him to a cooperation with Jovan Jovanov, a proved Macedonian song composer and producer, who also helped Boban promoting his song in another few towns in Macedonia, together with Elvir Mekic and Maja Sazdanovska. At the same time, Boban took place on the best solo interpreter competition, where he won the third prize performing the song ‘Hero’ by Enrique Iglesias.

Boban has recorded various radio-music advertisements for McDonalds, BiMilk and others.He continues working and preparing new singles with some of the best music producers and authors in Macedonia and wider.

His greatest desire is to explore new ways of writing and performing music, while incorporating unique rhythms and colorful musical textures to create his own original music.
