P. M. Kochukuru

P.M Kochukuru was born on October 28,1879 as the son of Mathew and achapilla of Edappattu Pazhayachirangara Family in the village Valakom which is near to Muvattupuzha of Ernakulam District, kerala. He wrote many christian hymns in Malayalam. His most renowned songs include 'Athiraavile Thirusannidhi','Maname Pakshiganangal' etc. He has written around 150 christian hymns.A collection of his songs was published in the name "Christheeya Prathyasayin Geethangal".His compositions are characterized with its rich content and the alliteration used.Advice to Christians, morning and evening praises and hope of eternity are all prominent in his songs.Most of his songs were born when he was working in his farm.After reaching home, he will copy the lines to a paper himself or will ask one of his children to write down the lines that he narrates.
