Eddie Locke (b.
February 8 ,1930 ) is an Americanjazz drummer.Locke was associated with the
Detroit jazz scene in the 1940s and 1950s, playing from 1948 to 1953 with drummerOliver Jackson in a variety show called Bop & Locke. He moved toNew York City in 1954, and worked there withDick Wellstood ,Tony Parenti ,Red Allen ,Willie "The Lion" Smith ,Teddy Wilson ,Roy Eldridge , andColeman Hawkins . In the 1970s he played withLee Konitz ,Tiny Grimes , andEarle Warren in addition to remaining in Eldridge's band at Jimmy Ryan's through the end of the 1970s. Locke continued to perform often into the 1990s.Locke appears in the photograph
