Sir Edward Cromwell Disbrowe (1790 - 1851), member of Parliament for Windsor (1823 -1826), later served in the British diplomatic corps in positions in
Switzerland ,Russia ,Sweden and other postings. He was named British Ambassador to the Netherlands, where he died atthe Hague , and his body was returned to England on the shipHMS Lightning . He also served as aDeputy Lieutenant of the county ofDerbyshire .
