South Vazhakulam

Vazhakulam is an agricultural and industrial village in Ernakulam district, Kerala, India. The main town in this village is South Vazhakulam (Aluva-Munnar Road).

There are many small and medium industrial and trading concerns are located in and around this place; eg. Coconut Development Board Technology Development Centre, AVT McCORMICK INGREDIENTS PVT LTD, GODREJ AGROVET LTD., India Techs Ltd (JCB), Mr.Butlers, Nenmani Rice (Nest Group) etc. Vazhakulam is famous for timber and plywood industries. There are also many rubber estates, dealers and crumb rubber manufacturers and polymer companies located here like EVM, Alwaye Techno, Rubber mark, Green Valley Specified Rubber Ltd, Mekkattu Trading Company etc.

South Vazhakulam is famous for its religious harmony. Hindus, Muslims and Christians are having equal strength and live in unity. Unlike other places in this village umemployment is not an issue at all. It provide employment to people from across the country. There are many successful self employed people here. The famous Ganamela troupe Cochin Harishree is owned by artists of Vazhakulam.

There are many educational institutions here; MES College, Holy Cresent College, Govt. Higher Secondary School, NIVHSS, MES ITC etc.
