The International School of Milan is an educational institution in Milan, Italy. The school is divided into three schools: the Primary School, the Middle School, and the High School. There is also a Primary Section of the ISM operating in Monza-Vedano, about 10 miles from downtown Milan. The last two years in the High School follow the International Baccalaureate course while other grades are officially authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization for the Middle Years Programme and the IB Primary Years Programme. On average, students at the school receive above average results in every examination (SATS, GCSEs, IB). Many graduates go on to further study in the UK, USA, Italy or their home countries. The International School of Milan has formal links with the Rome International School and with the International Schools in Como, Modena and Bologna. It has a partner school in Aliso Veijo, California, and supports school projects in Ladakh (India), Zambia, Sri Lanka and Ethiopia.

Student council
The student council is composed of a president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. The president must be a junior but all other positions are elected by all members of the student council. The whole body is made up of three representatives from each year. Admittedly, the student council has no political power within the school and many representatives choose to resign before completing their term.
School newspaper
The school newspaper is commonly known as 'The Word'. It talks about school activities while giving students school gossip, tips on fashion and information on sports and events. The most popular aspect of the newspaper is the results of 'the student vote.' This is when all students vote on who they find most attractive, funny, and so on. There also are weekly school bulletins namely "Paravia Post" (elementary school), "Osoppo On-Line" (middle school) and "Frattini Forum" (high school).
