7820 Dinmore Manor is a Great Western Railway locomotive part of the Manor Class. It is one of 9 locomotives preserved from the class which originally had 30. Built by British Railways in 1950 it was withdrawn from service in 1965 before being moved to Woodham's Scrap Yard in Barry, South Wales. When being restored at Birmingham Railway Museum the West Somerset Railway Company provided a financial 'leg-up' to the owning Dinmore Manor Fund. The locomotives boiler certificate expired in July 2004 meaning the locomotive requires an overhaul. It is predicted to cost about £250,000 and hoped that it can be completed by 2010 so Dinmore Manor can enter service during Easter 2011.
