Fritz Herzog (1902 – 2002) was an American
mathematician , known for his work incomplex analysis andpower series .He was born in
Germany and studied at theUniversity of Berlin until 1934 when he moved toUSA .He received hisPh.D. degree atColumbia University on a thesis entitled "Systems of Algebraic Mixed Difference Equations"advised byJoseph Ritt (1934).
