Steve Sollmann

Steven Richard Sollmann (born April 1, 1982 in city-state|Cincinnati|Ohio) is a retired minor league baseball infielder. Career

Sollman played for four years (by|2001–2004) for the University of Notre Dame men's baseball team before being drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 32nd round of the by|2003 amateur draft, but did not sign. He was later drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 10th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He began his career that year, playing for their Rookie League Helena Brewers. At the end of the season, he was named as the team's MVP. He advanced to the Class A-Advanced Brevard County Manatees the following year, where he also played in by|2006. In 2007, Sollman was promoted to their Double-A Huntsville Stars. He finished the season with a league-leading .996 fielding percentage, and was voted the "Best Defensive First Baseman" by Southern League managers in a "Baseball America" survey. He was also selected for the league's mid-season All-Star team. In by|2008, Sollmann was promoted to the Triple-A Nashville Sounds. After playing 31 games for Nashville, he retired from baseball on May 26.
