Opened by the
Worcester, Walsall and Midland Junction Railway , which then became part of theMidland Railway , it became part of theLondon, Midland and Scottish Railway during the Grouping of 1923. The line then passed on to theLondon Midland Region of British Railways onnationalisation in 1948. The station was then closed by theBritish Railways Board .The Site Today
Freight trains still pass the site on the
Sutton Park Line , and reopening of the station has been suggested with a possible date for reopening of 2017 for passengers betweenWalsall andSutton Coldfield . There is potential for a future through service to Birmingham New Street.###@@@KEYEND@@@###
