Nighat Nasim

Dr Nighat Nasim was born on 22nd of September in Sheikhupura (Punjab, Pakistan). She did her schooling in Karachi (Pakistan). Then she got into medical studies that took her to Punjab Medical College (PMC) in Faisalabad (Pakistan) where she did MBBS. She did not stop there, she did spcialisation in Gyneacology from Dow Medical College (Karachi–Pakistan). Since student times, she has very balance multidimentional personality of a literature loving person as well as a doctor. In medical college, she was in charge of Urdu section Editor of "Perwaz" college magazine. Similarly, while studying medicine, she acted as Editor of Urdu newspaper "Sadaf". That gave her wide exposure to write. She has been recognised as a famous Writer , Poetess and Columnist and has been published in many famous women magazines such as Pakeeza Digest , Dosheeza Digest , Kiran Digest , Hina Digest , Khwateen Digest , Akhbar e Jang , Funoon , Shayer and many more.

In 1994, life took a big turn and moved here to Australia with her faimly , where she continued her career in medical and life in literature. She did quite a number of medical trainings including Diploma in Psychiology and MD in Psychiatry to start here job in Australia. Now she is practicing in Psychiatry and also member of Royal college of Psychiatry Australia and New Zealand. She is working as Trainee Psychiatrist in South West Sydney Area Health Service. On the other side, she continued her literary activities. She is country manager of Alqamar (UK base Urdu Online Newspaper), she regularly writes in Alqamar as well. She has authored couple of books. She is broadcaster of famous weekly radio show Dosti (Sydney) where she is news reader and co-host. She also does similar performance in Indian radio show Batoo Batoo Main. She hosts time to time in Desi TV show telecasts on TVS and also performed on stage time to time . She loves traveling and had traveled most of the world including USA, UK, EU, Asia and of course Australia. She is married with Mouhmmad Aftab and he is metallurgist did MS from Moscow and with beautiful two sons Muhammad Muneeb Aftab , Muhammad Najeeb Aftab and one daughter Amna Aftab .

Achievements:

· Her two books has been published by name of "Gerd Bad e Hayat " and "Mitti ka Safar"

· Awarded by Pakeeza Digest as Best Writer Year Award in 1999 and 2000

· Awarded by Dosheeza Digest as Best Writer Year Award in 2001 , 2002 , 2003 , 2004, 2005

· Un-opposed elected three time as "Junior Registrar Representative " in Royal College of Psychiatry Australia and Newzeland . for South West Area Health Service

Executive member of Teeyan Sikh Women Association as a Pakistani community represented
