He was signed by the Cowboys in 1992 as anundrafted free agent from theUniversity of Miami . In 1996, Morato was signed by theAtlanta Falcons and played until 2001. Due to hamstring injuries throughout his career, he was forced to retire in 2001. In 39 games at the University of Miami, Morato had 15 interceptions and 2
kickoff return touchdown s. As a senior, he was an All-Big East Conference first-team choice by the "NFL Draft Report". He was an All American student, and won the Big East Academic Honor Roll accolades. He was roommate of actorDwayne Johnson ("The Rock").Professional career
Morato was assigned to the
practice squad with the Dallas Cowboys.He was a member of three of the Dallas CowboysSuper Bowl champion teams. In 1996 he signed with theAtlanta Falcons where his best year was in 1998, with three interceptions and 2 sacks. Morato was a member of the Atlanta Falcons NFC conference champion team that played against theDenver Broncos AFC conference champion team inSuper Bowl XXXIII inMiami, Florida .
