- Ayo Bankole
Ayo Bankole (b.
Lagos , May 1935; d. Lagos, November 1976) was a Nigerian composer and organist.He studied in England at the
Guildhall School of Music and Drama and atClare College, Cambridge , but eventually returned to Nigeria.He wrote a great deal of Christian liturgical music, and his compositions show elements of both traditional Nigerian music and Western classical music.
