William Carpenter Bompas (
20 January 1834 –9 June 1906 ) was aChurch of England clergyman and missionary in northwesternCanada , first Anglican bishop of theAthabasca diocese , then of theMackenzie river diocese and then of the Selkirk (Yukon ) diocese as these dioceses were successively carved out of the originalRupert's Land diocese. Born inLondon ,England , he died inCarcross, Yukon .
