Exposing Homelessness

Exposing Homelessness

Exposing Homelessness is a documentary film created by Kerri Gawryn (a U.S. filmmaker).

Exposing Homelessness is a film that documents the process of three formerly homeless women who participated in a photography workshop in which they were given 35mm cameras and instructed in the art of black and white photography. Drawing from their personal experience they were asked to use photography to express their insight into the issue of homelessness so that viewers could be exposed to a more intimate and profound examination of the problem. The contrast these women present to commonly held stereotypes of people who are or become homeless, inevitably compels viewers to re-examine their beliefs about the issue. The three women in the film are named Breyon, Liz, and Midori.
