Richard John Gardner (born February 1, 1982 in city-state|Santa Rosa|California) is a minor league baseball pitcher for the Nashville Sounds, the Triple-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Minor league career
Gardner was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 6th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball Draft. He began his career in the by|2004 season with their Single-A Advanced Potomac Cannons and finished up with their Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. In by|2005, he remained with Chattanooga. He was sent down to the Reds' Rookie League GCL Reds in by|2006, but was promoted to the Single-A Advanced Sarasota Reds later in the season. He started the by|2007 season in Sarasota, before being promoted to Double-A Chattanooga and then the Triple-A Louisville Bats.
Prior to the start of the by|2008 season, Gardner was claimed off waivers by the Milwaukee Brewers organization and was assigned to their Triple-A Nashville Sounds.
