The University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association [http://www.usask.ca/alumni/alumnisite/association/] (U of S Alumni Association) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization that works in partnership with University Advancement [http://www.usask.ca/alumni/] at the
University of Saskatchewan [http://www.usask.ca/] to strengthen the bond between alumni and the University.Since its inception in 1917, the
University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association has grown to include more than 120,000alumni living worldwide. Graduates have gone on to become, among other things,Rhodes scholars ,Nobel prize winners, prime ministers, CEOs, entrepreneurs, scholars, researchers, sports celebrities, doctors, lawyers, judges, teachers, nurses, and actors. Each year, approximately 3,500 new graduates join the Alumni Association.The

University of Saskatchewan offered its first class to a group of 70 students inSaskatoon in September, 1909. Three years later, 8 people were awarded their degrees at the first Convocation. TheUniversity of Saskatchewan Alumni Association was established in 1917.Location

Mission
As the official body representing all
University of Saskatchewan alumni, and building on the proud history and tradition of the University, theUniversity of Saskatchewan Alumni Association encourages and fosters lifelong involvement of the alumni with the University and its development through advocacy, support, service and communications.Governance
The
University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association is governed by theBoard of Directors who are members of the Alumni Association and are elected by alumni. The Board’s role is to provide direction, manage the affairs of the Alumni Association, and to present the view of its members to the University community. All representatives are volunteers and serve without financial remuneration.The U of S Alumni Association holds its
Annual General Meeting during Reunion Weekend in June to offer alumni an opportunity to meet there representatives and be a part of the decision-making process.Programs
The
University of Saskatchewan Alumni Association offers a number of programs, services and benefits [http://www.usask.ca/alumni/alumnisite/services/] designed to encourage a lifelong partnership between the University and alumni. The Alumni Association actively works to develop programs and services that will provide true value to members, including group insurance (life, home and auto), and the Alumni Travel Program.Members receive special privileges on campus such as reduced rates for library services and access to facilities such as the Physical Activity Centre. Each member receives the Alumni Association magazine, The Green & White [http://www.usask.ca/greenandwhite] , which is published twice annually, as well as on-line once per year.
