Eric Austin Gowing

Eric Austin Gowing (b 11 March 1913 - d 3 June 1981) was the 7th Anglican Bishop of Auckland whose Episcopate spanned a long period during the second half of the 20th century. Born in Sydney he was educated at North Sydney High School and the universities of Sydney and Oxford, [“Who was Who” 1897-1990 London, A & C Black, 1991 ISBN 071363457X] before embarking on an ecclesiastical career with a curacy at " St Mary, Deane Stafford".
