Evan Bradley Mathis (born November 1, 1981 in city-state|Birmingham|Alabama) is an American football guard for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at Alabama.

Early years

College career

He played four seasons on the offensive line for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. His first three years he played right tackle, before shifting to left guard as a senior. He was redshirted as a true freshman, before starting 47 consecutive games beginning in his sophomore year. He helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for the Tide to lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing yards per game in 2004. During his four years at Alabama, he was only responsible for allowing 3.5 sacks.

Personal

His uncle is Bob Baumhower, who played defensive tackle for Alabama and the Miami Dolphins.
