*Boston Red Sox (1924)

John Fulton "Abe" Woods (January 18, 1898 - October 4, 1946) was a relief pitcher in Major League Baseball who played briefly for the Boston Red Sox during the by|1924 season. Listed at 6' 0", 175 lb., Woods batted and threw right-handed. A native of Princeton, West Virginia, he attended West Virginia University.

Woods was a major leaguer whose career, statistically speaking, was only slightly different than that of Moonlight Graham. On September 16, 1924, he pitched a shutout inning of relief against the Chicago White Sox at Comiskey Park, although he walked three of the six batters he faced. He did not have a decision and never appeared in a major league game again.

Woods died at the age of 48 in Norfolk, Virginia when he accidentally drove his automobile into a tree.
