Horsell Common SSSI

Horsell Common SSSI is a Site of Special Scientific Interest in Surrey, England. [ [http://www.english-nature.org.uk/Special/sssi/unitlist.cfm?sssi_id=1000870 English Nature] ] . It is 750 hectares [ [http://www.woking.gov.uk/leisure/greenspaces/countryside/countrysidesites#horsell_common_sssi Woking borough] ] and lies near Horsell, a suburb on the outskirts of Woking.

Horsall Common was chosen by H.G. Wells as the site of the first Martian landing in "The War of the Worlds".
