- St. Pius Girls School
St. Pius Girls School is a primary school for girls located in Dublin. It is currently 43 years and has two classrooms for each year. It is connected to St. Pius's Boys school and it's current principle is Coline Fitzpatrick.
History
St Pius has not always been in the building it resides in now, when it started up(1965) it was in just 6 pre-fabs in St Mary's rugby club. The school had some small addings to it over the years but it wasn't until January 1971 when it was moved to Fortfield park did it have a satisfactory standard. When they moved in the school had 16 classrooms for the girls school and 16 again for the boys. It also contained staff rooms, offices for the principals, a cookery room and a medical room. On September 2006 the girls saw that the school had been extended at the end and instead of pre-fabs for one of the 4th classes and the special resource teachers there were now proper class rooms which were later that year blessed by the bishop of the area. A separate building in the school grounds was also built, it had multiple rooms and contained a science room with an interactive white board (which was also given to two of the classes in the girls school) and a second room for multi-purpose.St. Pius's was founded by Mrs Doherty who was the principal of the girls school.
