Royal Malaysian Police Cooperative Limited or "Koperasi Polis Diraja Malaysia Berhad" (KPD) established in April 24 1928 with a view to help reduce financial burden police and staff member in the police department. Without neglect member welfare, KPD has developed from a cooperative which provides business borrowing and lending to a conglomerate that until currently owns asset to book value as many as RM 720 million.

History

Established in April 24 1928, the Royal Malaysian Police Cooperative Society Limited a view the purpose of providing loan facilities to its members who are personnel of the Royal Malaysian Police force. Over the years however, KPD has grown from small saving and loans society into a conglomerate with assets at book value in excess of RM 720 million.

KPD has remained true to its initial purpose of providing loans and reducing the financial burden of its members. This objective is fulfilled through the following loan schemes following:-

* Personal Loans
* Special Loans Without Surety
* Housing Loans
* Small Holdings Loans
* Vehicles Loans
* Computer Loans
* Group Insurance

KPD also provides for its members to withdraw 80% of their savings for special purposes such as buying land and houses, house renovation, medical expenses and performing the pilgrimage to Mecca.

KPD looks after the welfare of its members in other ways. Education aid is given to members' children who demonstrate excellent academic potential . In this respect, KPD provides scholarship for local primary and secondary education, and for university education both locally and abroad. As of June, 2005, KPD has 84,058 members.

Although The Royal Malaysian Police Co-operative Society Limited (KPD) is chartered as a co-operative society , in essence KPD is a growth oriented asset management company dedicated to servicing the economic interests of its members and the country through obtaining consistently high returns on its investment and businesses. While meeting this primary objective , KPD at the same time will be promoting high standards of integrity, prudence and business competency.
