Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) a government-owned, guarantee limited company, was founded in the year 1995, primarily to promote the information technology industry of Pakistan.

Major Functions

Primary functions of PSEB are to

* Perform research activities to determine the status of the IT Industry in Pakistan
* Propose legislation in light of international standards for the local IT Industry
* Provide facilitation to Pakistani IT companies in areas of finance, marketing, setup, consultation and human resource.
* Facilitate IT industry by negotiating with utility vendors such as broadband service providers.
* Establish offices and IT Parks for the IT Industry

Programs and Initiatives

Human Resource Development

Collaboration with the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan to increase quality graduates into the industry through specialized programs and training and certification courses for professionals in the IT industry. Initiation of an internship program that provided job placement to almost 3,300 professionals with eighty percent of them finding permanent employment. Office Space Provision

PSEB currently operates over convert|750000|sqft|m2 of Software Technology Parks (STP) in eleven buildings across the country in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.

Marketing and Public Relations

Certification for IT Companies

PSEB sponsors information security certification of IT companies by providing consultation and subsidy. Under this program of PSEB, more than hundred companies got an ISO-certification and 25 got CMMI certifications.
