Phurba Sherpa born September 17, 1983) is a Filmmaker and Nepali singer whose most prominent album, "Geet Ek Akshar Ko" features the world's first ever one-letter song in the world music industry, "Song of Nepal".

Work

Sherpa sings several patriotic songs in other album besides his two album. He was nominated in the category "Best song with National Feeling" for 2006 and 2008 in the country's prestigious Eighth & 10th Annual Image Award.

He has appeared in several music concerts in Nepal and abroad. Since after graduating Diploma in Digital Film Making from Sae College, India, he has been working actively as filmmaker.

He has directed music videos like; - “Aakasaima” Nepali music video- “Haiye Re Raat Bhar” Hindi music video- “Passion For Dance” Instrumental music video- “Aari” music video- “Nerupivelyel” Tamil music video- " Kamjori Merai Ho" Nepali Music Video- " Don't Waste Water" Social Awareness Ad.- Till date 25 february 2008.

Personal life

Phurba Sherpa was born at September 17 1983, though he was born at Bhojpur his permanent home at Biratnagar, Nepal.He began his studies from biratnagar itself till 8th standard and completed S.L.C from Godawari Vidya Mandir. After S.L.C, He went to Kathmandu and joined Global College of Management for plus 2 studies. He then went to Chennai, India for his BBA degree and acquired Diploma in Digital Film Making from branch college of SAE Institute, Chennai, India in the year 2008.

Musical career

It was school days where his best friends used to inspire him to release his own album in future; seeing him singing other artist songs very fine. So after his School leaving certificate he was at Kathmandu the capital city of Nepal where he was persuading his futher studies. He felt and released his first solo album named as "Anjaan". where he succeded to left certain impact in Nepali music Industry.Later while he was persuading his Bachelor Degree, he met with guy named " Dhakal Bhai" Lyricist; where he was saying he penned a song using only one letter of Nepali letter "M". It was interesting to hear so though he has not planned to release another album before his education formal education finished.

But it was all god grace that he came up with an album " Geet Ek Akshar Ko" labelled and produced by Ranjana Music Industries in 2004. It was grand success album; every press,media, people all over talk of the album.

Family

HIs parents are Mingma Sherpa and Shanta Sherpa.
