Albanus Glacier

Albanus Glacier (coord|85|52|S|151|0|W|type:glacier_region:AQ|display=inline,title) is a glacier, 25 miles (40 km) long, flowing west along the south side of Tapley Mountains to enter Scott Glacier just north of Mount Zanuck, in the Queen Maud Mountains. Discovered in December 1934 by the Byrd Antarctic Expedition geological party under Quin Blackburn, and named by Byrd for Albanus Phillips, Jr., manufacturer of Phillips Packing in Cambridge, Maryland, a patron of the Byrd Antarctic Expedition of 1928-30 and 1933-35 by providing food provisions for both expeditions.
