Ironically, it competes with itsUnivision sister stationKBNT-CA for news at the same time. They both broadcast out of the same building in Kearny Mesa. XHAS focuses their news more on the issues affecting Tijuana (competing against locally-programmedXEWT-TV ) while KBNT focuses more on San Diego. XHAS offers Spanish-language coverage ofSan Diego Padres games on Sundays.Unlike other Tijuana-based stations aimed towards San Diego, XHAS has an FCC-licensed repeater, KTCD-LP channel 46, located in San Diego and wholly owned by Entravision.
